Surprisingly, Ghana captain André Ayew has mutually terminated his contract with his Qatari club Al Sadd. In the early hours of yesterday, the club confirmed this via their Twitter handles.
“Al-Sadd SC has reached an agreement with André Ayew to mutually terminate his contract with the club,” it said.This has surprised Ghanaian soccer fans because there was no indication that the Black Stars captain would end his illustrious career in the Middle East.

Ayew joined the Qatari giants as a free agent in 2021 after leaving Swansea City FC in the English Championship. Dede scored 15 league goals to help Al Sadd win the Qatar Stars League and play a key role in the club’s Emir Cup annexation.

He played 38 times for Al Sadd, scoring 22 goals and assisting three times during his one and a half season stay in the rich Arabic country.
Ayew is now free to join any club of his choice in the January transfer window, as he is now considered a free agent.
