Chelsea announced full 20-man squad against Liverpool
The Blues will be without a key group, of players as they welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are back in Premier League, action once more as they get their 2023/24 campaign underway, with an exciting home clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 13.
Despite it looking like both players could end up competing against, each other in this game nothing had been completed on time, though Chelsea have remarkably moved into pole position to sign both.
It leaves the central areas lacking in any physical, presence for Chelsea and Liverpool especially with Cesare Casadei and Lewis Hall, closing in on loan moves away from Stamford Bridge, they aren’t expected to be involved for Pochettino here even to fill the bench.
Kepa leaves new signing Robert Sanchez, as the first choice at Stamford Bridge whilst, the other options with the gloves may have to be filled by young academy, stars Jamie Cumming and Lucas Bergstrom.
Experienced back-up Marcus Bettinelli is out injured but is recovering well having missed pre-season. Noni Madueke also remains sidelined with his fitness, not yet up to scratch after a frustrating time out in America during the off-season.
He hasn’t been physically at his peak since a small niggle kept him out, of the closing stages of the Under-21 European Championships earlier in the summer.
Christopher Nkunku and Benoit Badiashile are also out, as is Armando Broja. The latter duo will be hopeful of a return by the end of September whilst their new attacking teammate is sidelined for what could be four months.
Having started work with a large squad, Pochettino is now relatively short of senior options in attack, though Ian Maatsen has featured heavily further forward in recent weeks.
The midfield is the main area of concern and could see new signing Lesley Ugochukwu thrown in at the deep end. Chelsea squad vs Liverpool:
