Huge money offer from Manchester United for Antony rejected by Ajax

Last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Sparta Rotterdam by the Amsterdam team without Antony.
The Brazilian has also skipped workouts amid rumors that he would leave.
According to Dutch journalist Mike Verweij (via TheEuropeanLad), Antony continues to refuse to practice and will not play in Ajax’s upcoming match against FC Utrecht on Sunday.
Since moving to the Johan Cruyff Arena in 2020 for £14.18 million, the former Sao Paulo winger has thrived there.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has been eager to see Antony again at Old Trafford.
The winger has played 82 times for Ajax, making 24 goals and 22 assists while helping the club win two Eredivisie championships under Ten Hag.
The Brazilian striker and United have reached a personal agreement over the transfer, but it looks that Ajax is still demanding their targeted €100 million.
The player’s current contract with Ajax has three years left on it.
Alfred Schreuder, the manager of Ajax, is convinced that Manchester United won’t purchase Antony.
When Schreuder asserted that he was certain Antony would not join Manchester United, many people took his assurance for granted.
According to the Ajax coach (via Metro),
“I understand what he wants, but he’s under contract with Ajax, and I also think we’re a wonderful club,” a club official said.

“I’m not in charge of the money. Many of the players we have sold have come to Ajax with lofty goals in mind. I believe you agree with that. That is how I feel, and I’m not afraid to say it.
He continued, mentioning Antony’s eagerness to align with Ten Hag:
“We have a basic understanding of how football operates, don’t we? Even though the boy genuinely wants to attend, it doesn’t guarantee that it will actually happen. To stop it, we’re going to take every available measure.
Given that Antony is so eager to transfer, it was believed that Ajax would accommodate and accept a second bid for him.
The Brazilian is unhappy with the choice, but the Eredivise champions are refusing to change their stance.
